Self Sustainability

Self Sustainability

“Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection."

[Bukhari]

Through our Self Sustainability programmes, we hope to improve the quality of life for people living in severe poverty while also providing a long-term sustainable income. Individuals who can support themselves and their families can create a sustainable and thriving community for future generations. We collaborate with our local teams on the ground and community leaders to identify the poorest households and prioritise them for assistance. Each beneficiary will receive extensive training in sales, money management, business etiquette, and Halal/Haram advising.

Break the cycle of poverty by:

  1. Providing a stable source of income: Self-sustaining income-generating ventures provide a reliable source of income for the underprivileged. This money can be used to meet their basic requirements, such as food, clothing, and shelter.
  2. Providing employment possibilities: These programmes provide job opportunities for the poor, which can assist to alleviate poverty and improve their standard of living. These projects, by creating jobs, can also serve to boost economic growth in the local community.
  3. Building skills and knowledge: Self-sustaining income-generating enterprises can provide opportunity for the poor to get training and development, allowing them to gain skills and knowledge that can be used to better their livelihoods in the long run.
  4. Empowering the poor: Self-sustaining income producing projects that provide the impoverished with the ability to earn their own money can help to empower them and offer them greater control over their lives and destinies.
  5. Encourage entrepreneurship: These programmes can encourage the poor to become entrepreneurs and start their own enterprises, so creating more jobs and stimulating economic activity in the local community.

Syria Shop

A ground-breaking project in Syria that gives families the opportunity to start their own businesses, buy shares, and learn how to run a sustainable business.  Our case studies have been a huge success and we are now planning to expand this concept in other countries.

Case Study: Abo Ahmad - Syria

Abo Ahmad came across our team on the ground in Syria desperately crying for help in order to feed his family.

Here is his story...

Thanks to your donation we were able to change Abo Ahmads life around making him an independent businessman who now was able to stand on his own two feet again, working and living in a dignified manner.
